This year at our conference, the Academy of Sociology (AS) will give out an award for an outstanding dissertation in the field of empirical-analytical sociology for the first time.
Hanno Kruse (University of Cologne) is the first AS dissertation award winner. He received his doctoral degree in 2017 at the University of Mannheim. His dissertation thesis has the title “Close Neighbors, Separate Lives. An Investigation of Residential Barriers and Bridges to the Social Integration of Young Immigrants in Germany”. Hanno Kruse is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Sociology and Social Psychological at the University of Cologne.
He will receive his award and present his work in his talk "Residential Barriers and Bridges to the Social Integration of Young Immigrants in Germany” at the Dissertation Award Ceremony on Wednesday, September 25, at 16:30 in room A701.
