Our last two Invited Speakers Emilio Zagheni and Dirk Helbing will give their talks shortly before the end of our conference.

Suzy Moat will talk about the use of online data in human-focussed behavioural research.

Claudia Wagner is an expert on using computational methods to investigate social constructs. In her talk, she will focus on the persistence of gender inequality on Wikipedia as well as the methodological challenges of measuring that.

For the first time, the AS gives an award to an outstanding dissertation in empirical-analytical sociology. Hanno Kruse's submission "Close Neighbors, Separate Lives. An Investigation of Residential Barriers and Bridges to the Social Integration of Young Immigrants in Germany" convinced the committee. He will receive his award and present his work at our conference.

Ridhi Kashyap repurposes online platform data which is usually used in advertising for social demographic research. At Digital Societies 2019, she will present the application of this data source to measure gender inequality globally.

Our next invited speaker Jana Diesner will give her talk about how to validly combine methods in the digital age.
